With the sun shining this week we are feeling so positive about the summer, so wanted to show you how to combine our linen fabrics to layer up a beautiful, classic coastal look. Creating a coastal interior design scheme in your home can make if feel like summer all year round!

The simplest way to create this look is to opt for warm white walls (and painted floorboards to match if you have floorboards to complete the look).

Recommended Paint Colours:

Stone I by Paint & Paper Library

Wimbourne White Farrow & Ball

Strong White Farrow & Ball

Blackened Farrow & Ball (a very pale blue/grey tone)

By chasing fabrics with striped elements to them in similar or tonal colours its easy to layer up prints to use different patterns across your soft furnishings, giving the room it’s own unique style and a bit of personality without looking busy or classy. In this scheme I have chosen white and natural linen prints with contrasting, classic inky blues.

Recommended Fabrics:

Slade Stripe Inky Sky on White

Feather Blade Atlantic or Coal

Nordic Trail White on Natural

Slade Stripe White on Natural

Mottram Meadow Inky Sky

Windmill Wood Inky Sky

Accessories & Lighting:

Cox & Cox do a great selection of accessories and lighting. The wicker pendant ceiling pendant shades look great for a beach look. Alternatively Davey lighting’s industrial box lanterns can look really smart. The White Company is always a great place to buy over sized lanterns and Nordic House do a lovely selection of scandi inspired contemporary accessories and chunky candles. Add one of our Mottram Meadow throws for a cosy accessory to complete the look.
