With our 10 year business birthday on the horizon next month here’s a little behind the scenes Q&A, reflecting on what’s gone before, looking at some design favourites and a few behind the scenes insights. It’s certainly been quite a journey. Next month we will also be bringing mailing list subscribers a special something to mark the occasion - a birthday treat to you so make sure you’re on the list.

‘There’s certainly been highs and lows along the way. We’ve faced unforeseen challenges over the years ranging from production delays during covid, shortages of base fabrics to print on post-covid, increased costs of materials along with a number of unexpected day to day blips. We have certainly been learning along the way. However there’s certainly been many, many highs and I never expected to be where we are today when I first began hand printing at my kitchen table back in 2014. It was a pipe dream to create an interiors brand. Once I had designed my first collection, I sourced production in the UK, styled and photographed a number of lifestyle shots and built the website myself launching in 2015 so it was a year of learning and taking myself way beyond any comfort zone but I loved it! The response I received from the interiors industry over that first year of trading was absolutely overwhelming. I was amazed that editors and journalists were keen to shine a spot light on my work through editorial coverage and that really spurred me to to really focus and build a brand’.

‘10 years later and we now have 7 collections, a few design and business awards and accolades, have exhibited at Decorex and Focus in London and have worked on some wonderful design collaborations. We have a made to order bespoke curtain and blind making service as well as lampshades made to order and a selection of lovely cushions and coverscross.com/shop-cushions. There’s never a dull moment here at ZGHQ. Above all we are so grateful for every single order and the loyalty that we’ve received from our customers over the years’. - Zoe
